Kadyrov Says Nature Does Not Obey the Government

Leader of the Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) Party, Alisher Kadyrov, criticized the notion of blaming the Uzbek government for deteriorating air quality in the country. "No government in the world can command nature, and there never will be," the politician wrote on his Telegram channel.

Kadyrov urged responsible individuals to prevent the spread of baseless assumptions and cited official explanations from Uzgidromet regarding the reasons for air pollution.

According to Uzgidromet, the increase in PM2.5 and PM10 levels is linked to a combination of natural factors occurring simultaneously. The first factor is abrupt weather changes and atmospheric inversion, where cold air accumulates near the surface while warm air remains above, preventing the mixing of air layers.

In this situation, solid particles gather in the lower atmosphere, leading to a temporary increase in their levels. Uzgidromet noted that this phenomenon is observed annually in Tashkent, Almaty, Bishkek, and Dushanbe from November to February.

The second factor is the lack of precipitation since the beginning of November. Rain naturally "washes" dust from the air, and its absence leads to the accumulation of dust.

The third factor is aridization, or the drying of the region. According to UN experts, Central Asia is one of the fastest desertifying regions in the world, which increases the amount of natural dust.

The decrease in vegetation cover exacerbates the problem, as even weak winds can raise dust. This year, the process has been more pronounced than usual. Meteorologists predict that the inversion in the capital may persist until November 24, after which air quality is expected to improve.

Meanwhile, local authorities are taking preventive measures, such as wetting streets, additionally irrigating green areas, cleaning spaces while keeping them moist, and consistently informing the public.
