In Samarkand, a young man who insulted the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was imprisoned

On December 30, 2025, a person promoting religious hatred was identified in Samarkand. This person, born in 2004, spread insulting messages about our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on his personal profile through Telegram messenger, one of the internet social networks, in the comments section of one of several channels.

Operational investigations were conducted on the incident, and the person's actions were investigated in accordance with Article 1843 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility. As a result of the investigation, an administrative report was drawn up against this person and sent to the judicial authorities for a legal decision.

On January 9, 2026, by the decision of the Pakhtachinsky District Court, the actions of this person were recognized as illegal and he was sentenced to 12 days of administrative arrest. In the court decision, it was established that this person distributed materials promoting religious hatred.

We remind you that, according to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the promotion or dissemination of national, racial, ethnic, or religious hatred entails liability. Such events are important for maintaining peace and harmony in the state and further clarify the responsibility of each person in society.
