England football legend and Manchester United's all-time leading scorer Wayne Rooney has spoken out about the current state of the team. He believes the team needs major structural changes.
"The team has lost its identity"
Rooney said that the current Manchester United team has lost its identity and the players have not developed the right attitude towards defeat. "The team seems to be scared. Only Bruno Fernandes is showing good results, but he also sometimes annoys everyone," he said.
Rooney believes that the current team needs serious changes. “I think 10-15 players should leave the club. Maybe the club won’t do it, but no one in this team is taking responsibility,” he said.
Only Fernandes and Maino deserve to stay
Rooney prefers to keep only Bruno Fernandes and Kobe Maino in the team. “The mentality is that the players accept defeat easily. They just try to justify themselves by saying ‘we’ll try to win the next game’,” the former striker said.
“You have to show real character”
Rooney called on the players to act with greater strength and determination. “Show character on the pitch, fight until the end. Looking at the current situation, my heart hurts,” he said.
Rooney’s critical comments have caused a lot of discussion among the team and fans. Only time will tell what changes will occur in the Manchester United squad in the future. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
