Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola, after a friendly match against Italian side Palermo, made interesting comments for fans eagerly awaiting the new season. His attention was particularly focused on Uzbek central defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
According to Guardiola, the young and talented player, since joining the club in January, has had a positive impact on the team with his movement on the pitch, discipline, and physical preparation. In the match against Palermo, Khusanov once again showcased his skill and potential. The coach believes that he not only plays reliably in defense but is also among the few players capable of maintaining a high pace of play.
“Our three transfers made before the World Cup were very successful. These are Cherki, Ait Nouri, and Reijnders. Likewise, Khusanov, who came in January, has been an important force for us. Today he showed his potential and proved that he is one of the fastest players I have seen,” Guardiola emphasized.
At the same time, the coach stated that he is also satisfied with the overall condition of the team and noted that preparations for next week’s away Premier League opener against Wolverhampton are going at a high level.
