The scale of meat production in Uzbekistan is increasing year by year. This plays an important role not only in meeting the needs of the population but also in stabilizing prices in the domestic market.
According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, a total of 2 million 137 thousand tons of beef were produced in all categories of farms in our country in 2024. This figure once again shows the significant contribution of farmers and dehqons in ensuring the country’s food security.
Turning to specific numbers:
– Farmer households accounted for 112.6 thousand tons;
– Dehqon and auxiliary households produced 1 million 962.1 thousand tons of meat;
– Agricultural organizations — 63.0 thousand tons.
It is worth noting that nearly 90 percent of the total volume of meat comes from dehqon and private auxiliary households. This shows the effective use of household plots, the widespread nature of farming culture, and the high potential of small-scale farms.
Currently, such statistical indicators are of great importance for fully supplying the domestic market with meat and avoiding reliance on imports during periods of high demand.
At the same time, this also has a positive impact on meat prices in Tashkent markets. Currently, beef prices have dropped in five of the city’s major markets and are being sold at affordable prices for consumers. This situation positively affects the population's purchasing power and strengthens competition in the market.
According to experts, increasing the volume of meat production in the future, developing the processing industry, and expanding export opportunities can bring even greater contribution to the country’s economy.
Meat is not only food — it is the result of the labor of millions of people, a sign of stability in the market, and an indicator of quality of life. Therefore, behind every farmer’s or dehqon’s harvest stands national tradition, cultural values, and food security.
