Uzbek Athlete Ilya Sibirsev Wins Gold and Silver Medals in the US

On December 9, 2025, the Toyota U.S. Open Championships swimming competitions are being held in the state of Texas, USA.

Uzbekistan national team representative Ilya Sibirtsev delivered an outstanding performance, stepping onto the podium twice. On the first day of the competition, Sibirtsev won a gold medal in the 1,500-meter freestyle event.

He finished with a time of 15:05.51, setting a new Uzbekistan national record. The previous record of 15:15.15 also belonged to the athlete himself.

On the final day of the competition, Sibirtsev claimed a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle event, recording a time of 7:51.85. Once again, he showcased his consistent high-level performance on the international stage.
