UEFA selects player of the week: four candidates announced

The Champions League matches of the 8th round are also behind us, and now it's time for weekly individual assessments. UEFA has traditionally released a list of contenders for the "Football Player of the Week" award. This time there are four names on the list - and interestingly, all four candidates scored "doubles" in the last round.
According to UEFA, the following players are eligible for the title of Player of the Week:
- Chelsea forward João Pedro
- Benfica player Andreas Scheldrup
- Bayer Leverkusen's Malik Tillman
- Liverpool midfielder Alexis McAllister

Naturally, the greatest attention is being paid to João Pedro. He scored twice against Napoli, making a decisive contribution to Chelsea's crucial victory. Two goals - this is not just statistics, this is just writing the fate of the game with your own hand.
The remaining three candidates - Sheldrup, Tillman, and Mac Allister - also scored a brace in the 8th round. That is, this week's list of candidates is built on the question "who liked the most brilliantly?": each of them brought a big result for their team in their game, each of them became one of the main heroes of the round.
As a reminder, after the 7th round, UEFA recognized Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior as the best player of the week. Now, thanks to the 8th round, a new winner emerges - and as you can see, the competition is very intense.
In short, there are four candidates, the arguments are strong. Now the final decision will fall on who - the fans' votes and UEFA scores.
