Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reportedly planning to offer approximately €10 billion to purchase the Barcelona football club. This information was shared by journalist François Gallardo on the X social media platform.
One of the key obstacles to this deal is the stance of the club's members, as their decision determines any changes in the ownership structure. It has been noted that this offer could become one of the largest in football history.
However, the final decision will not depend on financial terms alone but also on the outcome of internal voting, as FC Barcelona is owned by its members (socios). In the wake of these reports, club president Joan Laporta has announced that he will not seek reelection.
His current term is set to end in 2027. Barcelona is one of the most successful clubs in Spain, having won a total of 80 trophies.
These include 28 La Liga titles, 32 Copa del Rey victories, and 15 Spanish Super Cups. On the international stage, the club has secured 20 titles, including five UEFA Champions League victories.
