Amazon will lay off another 16,000 employees due to AI

Amazon will lay off another 16,000 employees worldwide amid increasing competition in the AI sector. This was reported by Bloomberg.
The company cited the desire to "remove bureaucracy" and "increase personal responsibility" as the reason for the mass layoffs.
In September, Amazon employed 350,000 office workers. 4.6% of these people will be laid off. The total number of company employees is 1.57 million, most of whom are warehouse workers.
In October 2025, Amazon experienced its first wave of downsizing. At that time, 14 thousand people were fired.
