Intel introduced Panther Lake architecture

Intel has introduced a new generation architecture for laptops — Panther Lake. The new series is described as the company's main "savior" project following a string of failures in recent years, writes the website Rozetked.me.

The Panther Lake processors are the first to be developed based on Intel's 18A process technology, and the company offers them in three different versions — each aimed at varying levels of energy efficiency and computing power.

The most powerful model features 16 CPU cores, 12 Xe3 graphics cores, and 12 ray tracing blocks. According to Intel, the new architecture reduces average energy consumption by about 10%, making it much more efficient than the Lunar Lake generation.

At the same time, thanks to the 18A process, chips consume 40% less power or provide 50% more performance with the same power. The new Intel Xe3 graphics delivers up to 50% higher efficiency.

The company also announced the introduction of a system for pre-compiling shaders in the cloud — this reduces loading time before games.

Panther Lake processors are currently in production and are expected to go on sale in the first half of 2026.
