YouTube allows blocked authors to return to the platform

YouTube has launched a new program called “Second Chance.” It allows blocked content creators to apply for re-entry to the platform after one year, reports Rozetked.me.

The company notes that this program is not an appeal — it is intended for users who have already used the official reconsideration option. Each case is considered individually, and the decision is made depending on the nature of the violation and compliance with current rules.

At the same time, channels that violated copyright cannot participate in this program.

After the application is approved, the author will be able to create a new channel, re-upload previous videos (if they do not violate current rules), and re-enable monetization.

Notifications about the new feature will appear in the desktop version of YouTube Studio in the coming months.

The program is being introduced after a letter from Google to US Congressman Jim Jordan — in which the company expressed its intention to reinstate channels blocked due to COVID-19 and election-related misinformation.
