On December 9, 2025, a memorandum was signed between the "Uzeltekhsanoat" Association of Uzbekistan and South Korea's Robotis company to produce humanoid robots in Uzbekistan. For the implementation of the project, it is planned to allocate a 66,000-square-meter area in Tashkent.
The document also envisions the development of a training system to prepare specialists for the new industry. Negotiations regarding the establishment of production took place within the framework of an Uzbek-Korean roundtable discussion.
The event was attended by representatives of the Uzbek government, including a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev. According to the Maeil Business Newspaper, Uzbekistan is ready to prioritize state programs to support this initiative.
Established in 1999 in Seoul, Robotis specializes in developing and manufacturing robotics equipment, including modular "smart" drives. In recent years, the company has been focusing on creating autonomous service robots, including courier robots.
