Russia-Ukraine: announcement of the second round in Abu Dhabi

The topic of negotiations around Ukraine has once again come to the forefront. According to Dmitry Peskov, the second round of negotiations on Ukraine is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5.
The statement said that these meetings were previously postponed - because it was not easy to "combine" the schedules of the three sides at the same time. At the same time, it is emphasized that Moscow's position has not changed, that is, the doors to negotiations remain open.
What is the essence of the negotiations turning to?
According to Peskov, the settlement of the situation in Ukraine is a "complex and multi-vector" process: some issues are approaching a solution, while others still have many open questions. That is, not everything will be resolved with one meeting - the process is going step by step.
In this context, it is noted that Kirill Dmitriev is responsible for the working group on economic cooperation. His visit to Miami was not disclosed in detail, only it was said that both he and Steve Whitkoff gave general conceptual assessments of the negotiations.
The background around Iran was also mentioned
The statements also touched upon topics related to Iran: Russia's readiness to help mitigate the situation was mentioned, and services for the export of surplus enriched uranium from Iran were offered as a possible option.
The issue of communication with Paris
Another point: it was stated that there is currently no precise information on the re-establishment of relations between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, but it was also mentioned that the French side expressed a "healthy opinion" about the need for communication channels.
What can be expected?
After the meeting on February 4-5, at least two things are likely to become clear:
1. In which directions is there a real approach, where is the "brake" applied;
2. The calendar and format of the next rounds - in what format it will continue.
In short, this is not yet the finale of the series - but in the next episode, the plot may become much more animated.
