Passwords of 149 million users worldwide leaked online

A large-scale data breach has exposed information on 149 million users of various online services on the open internet. The leaked database contains logins and passwords, bank card details, as well as service keys intended for access to government systems. This was reported by podrobno.uz reports .
According to Wired, those affected include 48 million accounts from Google’s Gmail service, 17 million accounts from the social network Facebook, and 420,000 accounts from the Binance crypto exchange. It is also said that access keys to streaming platforms were found online.
So far, the source of the leak and who the data belongs to have not been identified. Preliminary assessments suggest cybercriminals may have used malware to collect such a large volume of information.
Earlier, it was also reported that in Uzbekistan a network of nearly a hundred road cameras installed to “smartly” manage traffic flow had been left open without a password for a long time. It was noted that this vulnerability allowed any user to track the movements of millions of people in real time, see passengers’ faces, and access high-resolution video archives. Officials later denied this information.
