France will gradually abandon Zoom and Teams by 2027

France plans to gradually abandon American video conferencing services by 2027 and replace them with its own "Visio" application. This was announced by the Minister of Public Service, David Amel, in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche.
According to the minister, the French administration has become overly dependent on platforms like Teams or Zoom. It was emphasized that to ensure the security of negotiations and internal dialogue under any circumstances, it is necessary to break free from such "dependence" at the state level. For this purpose, it is planned to implement "Visio" throughout the entire public administration system by 2027.
Amel called "Visio" a "100% French-made development" and said it was developed by the Interministerial Digital Agency (DINUM). In his opinion, this solution will help save "millions of euros" spent on updating contracts with foreign software. The minister also added that approximately 40,000 people have tested the service, and the program has an algorithm that allows you to quickly obtain a text transcript of the conversation.
