Groq Founder Joins Nvidia

Founder of Groq moving to Nvidia
On December 25, 2025, Forbes reported that Jonathan Ross, the founder of the artificial intelligence startup Groq, along with part of his team, will be joining Nvidia. At the same time, Groq will continue its operations as an independent company under new leadership.

As part of the agreement, the company's assets have been valued at $20 billion. According to CNBC, the deal involves the sale of all Groq assets, but the startup's cloud services will not be included in this transaction.

It is notable that Nvidia previously made its largest acquisition in 2019, when it purchased Mellanox, a chip manufacturer, for $7 billion. Additionally, the Disruptive Fund has invested over $0.5 billion into Groq since it was established in 2016.
