The Japanese government is preparing to launch a national artificial intelligence project to strengthen technological independence and strengthen its position in global competition. This large-scale initiative will be implemented in partnership with the private sector, with a total value of 3 trillion yen, or about 19 billion dollars.
The main goal of the project is to reduce the technological gap between Japan, the USA, and China in the field of artificial intelligence. Leading companies of the country are uniting in this direction. In particular, SoftBank and more than ten large Japanese enterprises are expected to establish a joint venture starting next spring.
This enterprise will be responsible for developing the largest artificial intelligence nuclear model in Japanese history. It is planned that it will meet not only local needs, but also be competitive in the global market. Officials note that the project will contribute to increasing digital efficiency in many areas, such as industry, medicine, finance, and public administration.
