According to a new report presented by The Information, the front panels of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models will undergo the most significant design change in recent years. Reportedly, this will be the first major visual update since the iPhone 14 Pro, which introduced the Dynamic Island feature in 2022.
Sources suggest that Apple plans to integrate its Face ID system and related sensors entirely under the display. On the front, only a small cutout for the selfie camera will remain. Interestingly, this camera is expected to be located not in the center, but in the top-left corner of the screen.
As a result of these changes, the iPhone 18 Pro models in 2026 will completely abandon the pill-shaped Dynamic Island at the top of the display. However, the overall design concept is not expected to change drastically, as the body shape and general appearance will reportedly remain similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.
The report also confirmed previously circulated information about the camera. The new flagship iPhones will be equipped with a camera featuring a variable aperture. This technology, similar to that found in professional cameras, allows precise control of the amount of light reaching the sensor, which is expected to significantly impact overall photo quality.
According to sources, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be unveiled in September 2026, alongside the iPhone Fold and iPhone Air 2. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 model could follow a different timeline, potentially launching in early 2027 alongside the iPhone 18e.
Additionally, recent major leaks revealed details about over 30 new Apple devices. These include the AirTag 2, new iPad models, and a specialized hub for “smart home” solutions, some of which may be introduced in the coming months.
In summary, Apple appears to be gearing up to usher in a new era in both technical and visual aspects with its next-generation iPhones.
