China's tech giant Xiaomi has announced the development of its new AI-powered assistant, Mi Chat. This was reported by ITHome. The new innovation once again highlights the company’s rapidly advancing potential in the field of artificial intelligence.
According to insiders, the Mi Chat assistant is based on the modern LLM (Large Language Model) technology and operates using the MiMo-7B-RL language model. This neural network is deeply integrated into Xiaomi’s proprietary ecosystem and will be utilized across the company's various gadgets and services.
Sources describe Mi Chat not merely as another virtual assistant, but as a serious competitor. Some experts have even termed it a “serious rival to ChatGPT.” It has been noted that during the testing phase, Mi Chat outperformed several well-known models in terms of results.
The official unveiling of the new assistant is expected to take place within the framework of the Xiaomi 2025 Human Car Home Ecosystem Partner Conference. This event is scheduled to be held on December 17, during which the company may also introduce its new plans in artificial intelligence, smart home technology, transportation, and digital services.
Experts believe that Mi Chat is likely to further strengthen Xiaomi’s position in the global AI market and could become a key intellectual element of the company’s ecosystem in the future.
