Uzbekistan and Russia are creating a new mechanism for regulating labor migration.

According to the Migration Agency, the director of the agency, Behzod Musayev, and the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Labor and Employment (Rostrud), Mikhail Ivankov, discussed these and other issues of bilateral cooperation in Moscow.

It was decided to implement joint projects to organize special training centers in Uzbekistan for citizens wishing to temporarily work in Russia.

The Federal Agency for Labor and Employment also closely cooperates with the Migration Agency to study the activities of employers and determine their reliability.

The parties also agreed that Uzbek labor migrants will be able to take a Russian language exam in their homeland to obtain a residence and work permit (patent) in Russia. This exam will be taken at the Tashkent branch of the Sakharov Multifunctional Migration Center.

The meeting also discussed issues of simplifying the process of obtaining a patent for citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as improving the activities of the Tashkent branch of the KMM.
