Family dispute in andijan ends with woman's death
Another woman in Andijan has become a victim of domestic conflict. This time, the man’s violent action destroyed a life.

On the morning of July 4, 2024, around 09:30, a very serious and tragic incident occurred in the Urikzor neighborhood of Andijan city. A citizen, D.A., born in 1977, had a family dispute with his spouse, M.D., born in 1982, which ended in fatality.

According to available information, the domestic quarrel escalated into a major fight, during which the man inflicted a neck wound on his wife using a household knife. Unfortunately, the injury was so severe that the woman died on the spot.

After committing the crime, D.A. fled the scene in an attempt to hide. Witnesses and residents quickly informed law enforcement authorities about the incident.

The Andijan City Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case under Article 97, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — intentional murder. Subsequently, law enforcement agencies launched an urgent search operation to locate and arrest the suspect.

As a result of extensive evening search efforts, the fugitive suspect was found and detained by patrol officers in the Kumakay neighborhood of the Altinkul district of Andijan region. It was reported that he did not resist arrest.

Currently, D.A. has been officially detained under procedural regulations and is being interrogated. The full investigation is ongoing, according to the prosecutor’s official statement.

This incident sparked widespread public discussion. Many social media users are demanding strict measures to prevent violence against women and domestic aggression. The increasing frequency of such cases has caused serious concern in the community.

It is worth noting that this is not the first high-profile domestic murder in Andijan in recent months. Previously, a similar case occurred where a man fatally stabbed his wife. The rise in such tragedies calls for a serious response not only from law enforcement but also from all sectors of society.

Legal experts point out that under Article 97 of the Criminal Code, a convicted individual may face 15 to 25 years in prison. In particularly grave circumstances, a life sentence may also be applied.

Our goal is not only to report the incident but to raise awareness about such violent crimes. Every human life is valuable. Domestic conflicts should be resolved through communication and understanding, not violence.

It is especially vital to conduct systemic efforts against psychological and physical violence toward women. Such tragedies harm not only one family but society as a whole.

Further details regarding the investigation and court proceedings are expected to be provided later.
