In the semi-annual demographics, birth rates are decreasing and deaths are increasing.
At the scale of the republic, the number of babies stepping into new life in the first half of the year did not turn out as expected. The birth rate is showing a downward trend, which has seriously made demographers and family‑planning specialists stop and think. This is reported with reference to data released by official agencies.

Between January and June, registered births stopped at around 405.5 thousand. In a context where the population is growing rapidly, this figure indicates quite a low dynamic.

According to the data, among the newborns 209.6 thousand boys were recorded. The number of girls formed at about 195.9 thousand.

In the urban environment, 197.8 thousand babies were observed to be born. In rural areas, in turn, 207.7 thousand children were registered as born.

Compared with the same interval of last year, births were recorded as 14.4 thousand lower. This is a noticeable shift within a single year.

In addition, 84.1 thousand deaths were registered in the past half‑year. Behind each of these numbers stand real families, memories, and losses.

Within the losses, 46.2 thousand cases fell to the share of men. 37.9 thousand cases were associated with women.

Compared with the same period last year, deaths increased by 2.7 thousand. This trend is ringing an anxious bell.

In the demographic picture, two opposing directions — a decline in births and a rise in deaths — have intersected. The overall population growth rate may accordingly slow.

Marriages being postponed can lengthen the calendar for new births. Young people prefer first to resolve issues of study, work, and housing.
