Russia’s "Tatneft" company has registered a solar energy production project in the city of Angren, Tashkent region, on India’s Universal Carbon Registry platform. According to the "Tatneft" press service, solar power stations with a total capacity of 0.33 MW have been installed on the rooftops of the tyre manufacturing plant in Angren.
The energy generated from solar power will be used by the enterprise and will partially replace energy obtained from the regional grid, which emits large amounts of carbon dioxide. According to company estimates, the project will allow for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 206 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year.
"Tatneft" considers this initiative a strategic step towards introducing new technological platforms in the energy sector and exploring new forms of climate cooperation.
