Uzbekistan to Purchase Flexrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles from Airbus Helicopter Division. The contract was signed in the United Arab Emirates with the “Uztechtrade” company.
“This contract marks a significant milestone, as Uzbekistan will become the first country in Central Asia to acquire Flexrotor drones,” stated Olivier Michalon, Vice President of Airbus Helicopters. According to the company, the number of drones purchased by Uzbekistan has not been disclosed.
The devices are designed for reconnaissance and area monitoring. According to the manufacturer, the main advantages of the Flexrotor include its ability to fly for extended periods (up to 14 hours), maneuverability, and usability from small landing spots, including maritime vessels, without the need for complex equipment.
Uzbekistan plans to use the Flexrotor drones in conjunction with helicopters in complex operations to enhance efficiency. It should be noted that the Uzbek military already operates European helicopters such as the Eurocopter AS532 and Eurocopter AS550.
