Frauds to bring back bodies of Uzbeks who died abroad are on the rise

Fraudulent cases of raising money through various plastic card numbers to bring back the bodies of Uzbekistan citizens who died abroad are increasing on social media. This was reported by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the agency, some individuals are taking advantage of people's emotions by using old or false information for fraudulent purposes. These types of fraud are leading to distrust and distraction in society.
The Migration Agency urges citizens not to trust such false calls spread on social media and to never send money under any circumstances. It is recommended to contact only official government agencies as a legal and reliable way.
Additionally, the agency reminds that if a citizen of Uzbekistan dies abroad, their body will be brought back to the homeland at the expense of the Migration Fund. For this, the deceased's close relatives or representatives must directly contact the Migration Agency.
The Migration Agency urges the public to trust only official authorities and is working to ensure awareness of fake charity announcements.
