The process of registering deaths in Uzbekistan will be digitized. According to the Ministry of Justice, starting from March 1, 2026, official death certificates will be issued in electronic format and equipped with QR codes.
These documents will be automatically sent to the personal accounts of the deceased's spouse, parents, or children on the my.gov.uz portal, fully replacing paper-based certificates. By June 1, 2026, a "Unified Electronic Registry of Funeral-Related Services" module, including a mobile application, will be launched.
Through this system, all permits for funerals will be processed. Additionally, in Tashkent, from July 1 to December 31, 2026, maintaining paper-based cemetery records will be phased out as a trial, and funeral permits will only be issued in digital format.
