The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has registered a regulation updating the payment procedure for tuition fees on a contract basis at higher education institutions. Key points from the document were published on the ministry's Telegram channel.
According to the document, first-year students are required to pay at least one-quarter of their tuition fees by mid-September. Senior students, however, must make this payment by early October.
Additionally, students must pay at least half of the tuition fees by early January, 75% by March 1, and the entire amount by May 1. Furthermore, the state commission may extend the payment deadlines if necessary.
Funds generated from contract-based tuition payments will be directed toward enhancing the qualifications of young teachers and researchers. In addition, higher education institutions may provide financial assistance to students in need.
This assistance can amount to up to six times the minimum wage per year per student.
