Macron visited China: Ukraine and trade issues will be discussed

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in China on December 3rd for his fourth official state visit. Upon landing in Beijing, he immediately visited the Imperial Palace. On December 4, he plans to hold important talks with the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

The negotiations will mainly focus on multilateral negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, as well as the ongoing trade conflict between France and China. Macron stated that he intends to persuade China to put pressure on Moscow and plans to call on Beijing to reduce macroeconomic imbalances.

One of the most important parts of the visit is that Macron is accompanied by a delegation of business representatives to China. This delegation also includes the heads of large corporations such as Airbus, EDF, and Danone. On December 4, during the visit, it was announced that a number of economic agreements in the transport and energy sectors are expected to be signed.

The Élysée Palace reported that disagreements regarding the increase in tariffs have largely been resolved. However, relations between the two countries on issues of supplying mutton and dairy products still contain problems.

Emmanuel Macron's visit to China was an important step towards further strengthening trade and political relations between the two countries.
