Uzbekistan continues to maintain its position as the most dynamically developing market for international hotel chains in Central Asia. From 2020 to 2025, the number of rooms under international hotel brands in the country grew by 272%.
No other country in Central Asia has demonstrated comparable growth rates. This was reported in a study by CMWP Uzbekistan.
By the end of 2025, 682 branded hotel rooms were commissioned in Uzbekistan. Key openings during the year included Swissôtel Tashkent, Wyndham Garden Tashkent Airport, Ramada Encore by Wyndham Zomin, and J.W. Marriott Hotel Tashkent. Notably, J.W.
Marriott Hotel Tashkent deserves special attention as the country's second luxury-class facility. By 2025, the total number of international chain-affiliated hotel rooms in Uzbekistan reached 4,473.
This allowed Uzbekistan to secure second place in Central Asia in terms of market size after Kazakhstan, while leading in terms of growth rates. As of 2025, there are 12,743 hotel rooms under international brands in Central Asia.
Of these, 57% are located in Kazakhstan, and 35% are in Uzbekistan. At the same time, Uzbekistan demonstrated the highest growth rates in hotel inventory, nearly quadrupling over five years.
Kazakhstan, meanwhile, recorded a growth of 52% during the same period. By the end of 2026, Uzbekistan is expected to surpass Kazakhstan, becoming the regional leader in terms of the volume of international branded hotel rooms.
This figure is projected to exceed 8,000 rooms, while Kazakhstan is expected to have approximately 7,200 rooms by that time. Long-term growth prospects are even more significant.
During the period between 2025 and 2030, the number of international hotel rooms in Uzbekistan is expected to increase to 10,311, adding 5,835 new rooms. This represents a 130% growth.
Uzbekistan’s hotel market is transitioning from a "catching-up" status to becoming a new focal point for international hotel operators. By 2030, the country is expected to account for 47% of the regional hotel inventory and contribute nearly half of the industry's future growth.
