On February 13, at a meeting attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, where issues of maintaining high rates of economic growth in sectors and regions were discussed, important measures to support the population’s consumption were reviewed. In this process, the task was set to reduce auto loan interest rates and expand the volume of credit allocation in order to further strengthen interest in locally produced cars.
It was noted at the meeting that there are currently 4 major enterprises in the country with the capacity to produce up to 650 thousand vehicles per year. Now, in order to further localize the production chain, it was emphasized that in the current year it is important to produce an additional 763 types of parts on the basis of cooperation with more than 300 local enterprises.
It was also separately emphasized that it is necessary to increase the number of produced vehicles to 510 thousand. This is expected to help maintain the balance of supply and demand and reduce queues and waiting times in the market.
Special attention was also paid to the activity of the cluster in Chirchiq. It was said that if it operates at full capacity, can produce agricultural machinery at a cheaper price, and if convenient financial solutions are established together with leasing companies, then dehqons and farmers are ready to purchase at least 15 thousand pieces of machinery per year.
In conclusion, the officials responsible for the automotive industry were instructed to deeply analyze every opportunity and revise the production program for the current year in line with a 10.5 percent growth.
