The number of economic zones and clusters in Uzbekistan has officially increased dramatically

The National Statistics Committee has published updated figures on special economic zones, small industrial zones, technoparks and clusters in the country as of January 1, 2026. In short, the economy is expanding not only "on paper", but also in infrastructure - that is, space for projects, opportunities for business, new products for the market.
According to official data, the following structures are currently operating in Uzbekistan:
- special economic zones - 31
- small industrial zones - 423
- technoparks - 32
- clusters - 381
The most interesting thing is that these structures are not "in name" - the number of enterprises within them is also clearly indicated. That is, in addition to the amount of space, it is also clear how much work is being done there:
- in technoparks - 3,803 enterprises
- in small industrial zones - 3,272 enterprises
- in special economic zones - 1,127 enterprises
- in clusters - 392 enterprises
If you look at the numbers, technoparks seem to be the leaders in terms of the number of enterprises. This means one thing: businesses around innovation, production, and technology are increasing. The number of enterprises in small industrial zones is also large - which means that small and medium-sized businesses in the regions are "growing".
Of course, behind each number there is something important for an ordinary person: new jobs, local products, export opportunities, tax revenues, and most importantly - competition. If there is competition, both quality and service will "wake up" by themselves.
The data was provided by the National Statistics Committee as of January 1, 2026. Now the main issue is that these structures should show their "beauty" not only in terms of their number, but also in terms of their results. Because the best statistics in economics are changes that people can feel.
