In Vietnam, there is an 81-year-old farmer named Thai Ngoc. He last slept when he was 17 years old, and he suffered from insomnia after contracting malaria in 1962, wrote Lad Bible.
Neither medication nor doctors' recommendations helped - Ngoc, like everyone else, does not sleep well.
"I get excited when I see others sleeping. I go out to the fields on full moon nights, and sitting there doing nothing is torture," said Thai Ngoc.
Despite his lack of sleep and his advanced age, the farmer is healthy and strong, carrying 50-kilogram bags up to four kilometers without getting tired. However, his family is concerned about his constant sleeplessness.
Some believe that Ngoc's insomnia may be related to post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the events of the Vietnam War.
The unusual phenomenon still remains a mystery to doctors. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
