In the morning, a mother wakes up before everyone else in the house and, before going to work, prepares breakfast. Picture this woman: she runs around at dawn taking care of all her family members. Some may call her actions “ordinary.” But do you think that’s easy?
For a woman, life is a new challenge every single day. She cannot just lie down and rest like a man. People tell her, “Stop striving,” but she has many dreams. At work she is an employee, at home a mother, to her spouse a support system, a psychotherapist, and a companion. Can you call it “easy” for someone to constantly switch between these roles?
Some advise her: “Don’t push yourself, be humble.” But a woman is human too. She also wants to improve herself, express herself, be acknowledged. She, too, can get tired, make mistakes, feel hurt. Yet most of the time, she is expected to “be patient,” to “endure.”
The smile on a woman’s face isn’t always a sign of happiness. It might be the fatigue, pain, and pre-aging agony she’s hiding. If it were up to her, she’d take one day just for herself. But usually, she tends first to her child, then to her husband, then to work — and only then to herself.
A woman is the source of life. She gives birth, raises children, builds a family, and protects the home. Meanwhile, society expects far more from her: to be a role model, to maintain order, to be an example, and even to be endlessly patient!
It’s not easy for women. But they are such resilient people that no matter the hardship, they bounce back and do their best to be a support for everyone. Women deserve to be valued not only on holidays, but every single day.
That’s why every person should give their love, respect, and attention to the women in their lives — mother, sister, wife, girlfriend, daughter — to help ease their burden, even just a little.
