Iran puts army on high alert amid US threats
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ordered the country's army to be put on high alert. The Reuters news agency, citing diplomatic sources, reported that the decision was made following reports of a possible US military operation.

Against the backdrop of tensions with the US

It is known that Iran has warned regional countries such as Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey and Bahrain not to allow the US to attack from their territory. If these countries provide their territory to the US for military operations, Tehran has said that it will consider this an "act of hostility" and may respond militarily.

A senior Iranian official said that such a situation could lead to "serious consequences." This rhetoric is further exacerbating the tense relations between Iran and the United States.

Trump's "final warning"

In early March, US President Donald Trump sent a personal letter to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, inviting Iran to negotiate on the nuclear deal and giving it two months to do so. The contents of the letter were also shared with Washington's main allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

In response, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called Trump's offer a "deception", and Iranian President Masoud Pezizkian refused to hold direct talks with the United States on March 30. Tehran has stressed that talks on its nuclear program can only be held with the mediation of third countries.

Missiles at the ready

Against this backdrop, Iran has put its missiles and defense systems on combat readiness. According to sources, underground missile launch complexes scattered throughout the country are at a high level of readiness. These facilities are built to withstand air strikes and are capable of responding immediately if military action occurs.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in his speech, said that the likelihood of the United States striking from outside is low. “It is unlikely that evil will be carried out from outside. But if it does happen, they will certainly receive a severe response,” he said.

The recent diplomatic and military tensions between the United States and Iran pose a new threat of instability in the Middle East. It is worth noting that both sides have so far refrained from direct confrontation, but the level of rhetoric and military readiness is increasing. Although the door to negotiations remains indirectly open, the situation could quickly escalate.
