Alpha, a private school that opened its doors in Austin, Texas, introduced itself to a "unique educational program based on artificial intelligence." The tuition fee is not insignificant - $40,000 per year, but the institution says that this money will be spent on personalized learning paths and high results.
The format of the lessons is also unusual: the student dedicates about two hours a day to mathematics and natural sciences, while a special AI system monitors their progress during the rest of the process. And "coaches" are always by the side - but they are not traditional teachers, but IT specialists, who provide support, increase motivation, and jointly overcome obstacles.
After completing the core course, it's time for practice: four-hour seminars will teach life skills such as doing business, managing real estate through platforms like Airbnb, and rational use of investment tools. The school currently has 16 campuses. In September 2025, it was reported that U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited it. Management emphasizes that Alpha students consistently rank among the top 1 percent in standardized tests.
Of course, there are disputes surrounding this approach: some educators question the effectiveness of using AI in education, stating that "scientific evidence is insufficient," and express concern about excessive dependence on technologies. Nevertheless, the program is appealing to students - personal pace, quick feedback, and topics close to practice seem to be energizing young people.
In short, Alpha has begun a new generation school experiment in Austin: high cost, but great promise - short, effective, and life-affirming education with the help of AI. Time will tell: will this model become widespread, or will conventional schools continue to dominate?
