
On November 20, 2025, Turkey's Ministry of National Education introduced the term 'Turkistan' into school curricula, replacing the term 'Central Asia.' This was reported by Turkish Minute.
Minister Yusuf Tekin stated that this change was made to strengthen unity within the Turkic world. According to him, geographical terms with imperialistic connotations are being removed from Turkey's education system.
