Sergio Gor, a native of Tashkent and the U.S. Special Representative for South and Central Asia, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the American-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council. The U.S. Department of State reported this development.
In this role, Gor will work alongside Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan. According to U.S. officials, the establishment of this council will further strengthen practical relations between the two nations, accelerate cooperation among business leaders, expand mutual investments, and foster collaboration in high-tech sectors.
This initiative follows the logical continuation of discussions held during the recent C5+1 Summit in Washington, attended by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The council was established by President Mirziyoyev’s decree, with Saida Mirziyoyeva overseeing its composition and regulations.
