In the FA Cup third round, Liverpool hosted Barnsley and secured a convincing win that delighted the fans. Arne Slot’s side never let their advantage slip, cruising to a 4–1 victory to reach the next round.
From the opening minutes, the Merseysiders played on the front foot. In the 9th minute, Szoboszlai opened the scoring to give his team an early lead. The goal clearly showed Liverpool’s attacking intent.
In the 36th minute, Frimpong beat the opposition defence with skill and doubled the lead. Barnsley, however, showed they were not ready to surrender and pulled one back through Phillips in the 40th minute. The first half ended 2–1.
Liverpool kept control after the break as well. Arne Slot’s substitutions added extra energy to the team’s play. In the 84th minute, Wirtz made it 3–1 with a precise finish. In stoppage time, Ekitike scored to seal the win.

As a result, Liverpool confidently advanced to the next round of the FA Cup. The team’s performance and the balance between young players and experienced stars gave fans plenty of hope for the future. It’s a celebration on Merseyside, with tougher tests still to come.
