Those Responsible for Traffic Congestion on Uzbekistan's Border to Be Punished

Those responsible for congestion at Uzbekistan's border will be punished
Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has demanded the punishment of company executives responsible for the congestion of freight wagons at the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border. "Hold the executives of the company that caused this situation accountable and report back to me," Bektenov stated.

The head of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ), Talgat Aldibergenov, reported that meetings with Uzbekistan's Minister of Transport on December 7-8 had taken place. Following the meetings, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to accept up to 1,800 wagons daily.

This has made it possible to stabilize the situation and resume grain exports. "Several joint decisions were made during the meetings.

Firstly, an operational headquarters was established in Uzbekistan. Secondly, all responsible authorities transitioned to working around the clock.

Thirdly, Uzbekistan Railways committed to accepting up to 1,800 wagons daily, including 35 trains — among them 250 wagons carrying grain, flour, and other goods. Currently, the situation is stabilizing, and grain exports have resumed," Aldibergenov stated.

Additionally, it was noted that an operational headquarters had been established in Uzbekistan and all agencies had switched to a 24/7 work schedule.
