The Russian government issued the highest number of work permits in the last nine years to citizens of India and Bangladesh in 2025. According to official data, these figures are the largest since 2017.
According to experts' forecasts, by 2030 the labor shortage in Russia could exceed 3 million people. This situation further increases the need for labor migration.
In particular, 56,500 Indian citizens were invited to work in Russia. For comparison, in 2024 this figure was 36.2 thousand people. At the same time, the number of labor migrants from Bangladesh has also increased significantly: if last year there were 2.8 thousand people, then in the current period their number has reached 9.3 thousand.
It is noted that the indicators of migrants from both countries have reached their highest level in the last nine years.
