The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has extended the license allowing the sale of Lukoil's foreign assets until January 17, 2026. This was announced on the official website of the department.
The license grants Lukoil International GmbH (LIG)—the company's foreign subsidiary—the right to negotiate and execute contracts related to the sale of its properties and those of its affiliates. Additionally, OFAC has also extended the validity of the document permitting the use of LIG's blocked accounts for contract-related services.
It should be noted that Lukoil was added to the U.S. sanctions list on October 22 of this year. In December, the company received a temporary license to sell its foreign assets.
Earlier, the U.S. Department of the Treasury permitted Lukoil to perform operations related to the technical maintenance and closure of its foreign fuel stations until the end of April 2026.
