
Sardor Rustamboyev has assumed his role as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Nepal. He presented his credentials to the country’s President, Ramchandra Paudel. This was reported by the Dunyo News Agency.
The ambassador will carry out his duties from New Delhi, the capital of India. Sardor Rustamboyev has been serving in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2000 and holds a scientific degree in political science. From 2018 to 2023, he headed Uzbekistan’s embassy in France.
From January 2024, he will also serve as the ambassador to India and as the representative to the Maldives and Bangladesh. Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel expressed interest in strengthening ties with Uzbekistan.
During the discussions, the parties deliberated on expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The Nepalese side sees significant potential in the areas of tourism, education, and hydropower.
The President of Nepal reiterated his commitment to fostering long-term and friendly relations with Uzbekistan.
