Trump says the US will run Venezuela until power is handed over

US President Donald Trump said at a press conference in Palm Beach that Washington intends to run Venezuela until a “safe, proper and reasonable” transfer of power is ensured in the country. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
According to Trump, the US operation in Venezuela was called “Midnight Hammer” and ended “successfully.” He claimed Maduro was detained as power was cut in Caracas.
The White House chief also listed a number of allegations against Maduro: he allegedly led the Cartel de los Soles drug cartel and seized US oil infrastructure. Trump told reporters he spoke with Venezuela’s president who was overthrown a week ago and demanded he surrender during the call.
Trump said the US plans to bring in its largest oil companies to rebuild Venezuela’s devastated oil sector. He called it multi-billion-dollar investment and noted it should benefit the United States.
The president said Washington will not allow other countries to “loot America,” and that how long the US stays in Venezuela will depend on how the handover of power proceeds.
Trump also spoke about Venezuelan opposition leader Cristina Maria Machado, saying the politician who previously supported a US invasion “cannot be a leader for Venezuela” and lacks leadership potential.
Trump also called Cuba a “suffering country” and said the US wants to help Cubans. He added that Cuba could become one of the main tracks in upcoming talks.
