Disney’s animated film “Zootopia 2” continues to rack up box-office revenue in theaters at a rapid pace. The project has reached $1.588 billion worldwide, coming very close to the $1.6 billion mark. This result made it Disney’s highest-grossing animated film ever. Playground.ru reportsreports.
The film delivered especially strong results in China: it earned over $600 million there, becoming the most successful Hollywood release in the country. The only title mentioned as a potential close competitor in the local market is “Avatar: Fire and Ash” — it has grossed more than $100 million in China.
Another notable point: “Zootopia 2” is the fastest PG-rated film to reach the $1 billion milestone, achieving it just 17 days after its premiere.
The sequel to the 2016 film became one of only three movies in 2025 to surpass $1 billion. The list also includes the “Lilo & Stitch” remake ($1.03 billion) and the Chinese film “Ne Zha,” which leads the global box office with $2.2 billion.
