Ukraine deal: NATO, Canada and European representatives took part

According to Ukraine’s chief negotiator Rustem Umerov, the talks included representatives of Canada and NATO as well as delegates from European countries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his X page that an agreement was reached on security guarantees and the basic principles of reconstruction and recovery.

"We are also preparing for meetings with the United States," Zelensky said.

Ukrainian representative Oleksandr Bevz, who took part in the talks, said the security guarantees plan with European Union (EU) countries includes Ukrainian troops as the first line of defense, the deployment of forces led by European countries in Ukraine, and security guarantees provided by the United States.

At a briefing, Zelensky stressed that security guarantees should include the deployment in Ukraine of at least French and British troops.

These talks are one of the key steps aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s security and regional stability, opening new opportunities in international relations.
