Warning: Thieves Using Distraction Techniques to Steal iPhonesThis brazen thief walked into a shop in Southend today and stole an employee's iPhone, using a distraction technique. Watch as the man enters the shop to ask for directions, places a map over the iPhone on the desk and then removes the phone under the map before leaving the store with it. We are hearing reports that a number of stores were targetted in the Southend area today using the same technique and a number of thieves are beleived to be working together. This incident took place at Angel Homes and Lettings, on London Road. A spokesperson for the firm said: "This delightful person visited our office today and stole from one of our kindest and most hardworking employees. "We will be eternally grateful if anyone can identify him. It appears he has been doing the same thing around lots of local businesses, so please beware."
