Cyberpunk sequel awaits: CD Projekt RED is cautiously planning

The sequel to the game Cyberpunk 2077, developed by the famous Polish studio CD Projekt RED, may not be released in the near future. According to the Strefa Investorow portal, citing estimates from Noble Securities analysts, the new part will not be released before 2030.

According to analysts, the postponement of the release date is not accidental. This time, the developers have decided not to rush, but to bring the game to a technically mature state. In particular, the sequel is expected to fully develop the multiplayer mode and organically integrate it into the main game mechanics.

At the same time, it is also assumed that the new Cyberpunk may be released precisely on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the release of the first part. This makes the project important not only technically, but also symbolically.

For your information, Cyberpunk 2077 was first developed in 2012 and the release date was postponed several times. Originally scheduled for release in 2019, the game was finally released in November 2020. However, serious technical problems that arose after the release, especially bugs in the console versions, caused major criticism and scandals.

It is noted that this negative experience forced the studio to work more cautiously and gradually on new projects. This time, CD Projekt RED intends to put quality first.

In the meantime, the studio has not forgotten about another popular franchise. In 2026, a paid plot expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned. This expansion aims to connect the events of the game released in 2015 with the new The Witcher 4.

According to initial plans, a completely new part of the “The Witcher” series will be presented to the attention of game fans at the end of 2027. Thus, it seems that CD Projekt RED is choosing the path of presenting major releases in the next decade without rushing, but based on a thorough plan.
