Rahmonali Suropov spoke about how "The Hat" reached Warner Bros

The founder of the comedy show "Qalpoq," actor and screenwriter Rahmonali Suropov, spoke about how this project caught the attention of the world-famous Warner Bros. film company, his impressions of traveling to the USA, and interesting events in his creative life.
He said that initially it was thought that the invitation from Warner Bros. was sent only for the comedy show "The Hat." However, upon reaching the USA, it became known that creators from 30 countries were participating in the competition. After the expulsion of the two countries, scenarios from 28 countries were accepted. According to Suropov, they were also sent an invitation letter through an acquaintance who writes books and writes scripts in America. $20,000 has been allocated for travel expenses, excluding travel tickets.
"At first, it seemed that only we were invited. But when I saw artists from other countries, I was a little discouraged," he recalls. In addition to "The Hat," they also prepared a screenplay for an action film. The comedy show's script was not accepted because it wasn't in sketch format, but the action film script was retained by the film company. The results of the competition were announced within a period of 3 months to 1 year, and the team was invited to the USA for a second 15-day trip.

Suropov noted that during his trip, he visited New York, Washington, and Florida, and New York left the greatest impression. He recalls with amazement how the black car, having traveled 600 kilometers on a rainy day, did not sink into the mud. He also noted that a large part of the road from Washington to Florida is covered with forests, and his attitude towards nature made him think.
According to the creator, "The Hat" costs approximately $700 per show and generates almost the same amount of revenue. If the action film script wins, you can receive a fee of at least $200,000. He plans to go on his second trip with a large team - Sherzod Kattaboboyev, Orif Sultanov, and Fatima Nazarova, and even intends to film the new year episode of "Qalpoq" in the USA.
Suropov also regretfully mentioned that his phone was stolen abroad. The phone wasn't expensive, but the fact that it contained script ideas accumulated over the years made him think deeply.
During the conversation, he shared one of his most interesting memories. At one time, the TV channel trained a rooster to turn on the TV for a commercial. He comically recalled living in a one-room apartment, "practicing" with a rooster, cleaning the carpet behind it, and during filming, after the rooster crowed from the director, forgetting all the learned movements.
