Macaulay Culkin openly explained why he left the movie after "Home Alone"

Macaulay Culkin openly explained why he distanced himself from acting after becoming world-famous through "Home Alone" and its sequel in the early 1990s. Kalkin, who is now 45, says that he chose not fame, but a simple childhood and a free life with his peers.
In the podcast "Mythical Kitchen," the actor noted that childhood filming wasn't a collective process, as many think.

After the 1994 film Rich Boy, he decided to leave Hollywood forever. Although he was one of the most famous child actors in the world at the time, Kalkin says he considered ordinary life - friends, meetings, and childhood experiences - important.
"Later, I realized that I had missed these things," he recalled.

Calkin compares popularity to "toothpaste," describing it as an irreversible process. At the same time, he noted that he never intentionally wanted to become famous, and that his entry into acting was accidental.
He had previously stated that he would agree if he were offered a return to Kevin McAllister and had a good script. Kalkin even shared an idea about a possible continuation: in it, the grown Kevin faces paternal problems, and the house becomes a symbol of a broken relationship.

Currently, the actor's main focus is on his family. She is raising two sons with actress Brenda Song and prefers to live a quiet life away from cameras.
