According to our weekly analysis of exchange rates published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the last working week of August 2025, the exchange rate of 1 US dollar against the national currency — the soum — increased by 68.59 soums.
Weekly dynamics
The dollar-to-soum exchange rate underwent certain changes during the week. In particular, a decline was observed in the first half of the week:
Monday: -56.70 soums
Tuesday: -51.29 soums
Wednesday: +48.85 soums
The decline on these days may be related to dynamics in international markets, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, however, an increase in the rate was recorded:
Thursday: +58.33 soums
Friday: +69.04 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change in the US dollar exchange rate against the national currency was negative for the soum, ending with an increase of 68.59 soums.
The Central Bank forms exchange rates on the basis of market mechanisms, striving to maintain stability in economic processes. Such fluctuations in the exchange rate are considered an indicator of the global economic environment, foreign trade volume, and the level of domestic economic activity.
